Avinode Enhances Safety Standard Options with Addition of IS-BAO

27 Apr 2016

Avinode, the world’s leading online marketplace for buying and selling air charter, has today added the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) safety standard to the Avinode Marketplace.

Avinode, the world’s leading online marketplace for buying and selling air charter, has today added the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) safety standard to the Avinode Marketplace. Delivered by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), IS-BAO has been added to Avinode’s existing collection of standards, enabling customers to consider a wider choice of safety ratings.

IS-BAO, a voluntary code of best practice developed for the business aviation industry by the industry through IBAC, enhances operational safety through predictive and proactive methods, improves safety culture, efficiency and effectiveness and increases executive level appreciation of aircraft operations.

Avinode has added IS-BAO to complement the existing Wyvern and Argus safety standard options, two of the industry’s leading safety standard organisations, in the Avinode Marketplace.

Oliver King, managing director, Avinode, says: “IS-BAO, Wyvern and Argus are the three most highly recognized safety standards in the industry. It was a natural decision to add IS-BAO to the mix, to provide our customers with the best options when it comes to choosing an aircraft. Whilst these standards are voluntary, we know from customer feedback that industry safety standards certainly help air charter buyers make an informed and intelligent choice of aircraft within the Avinode Marketplace.”

“IBAC is very pleased to partner with Avinode,” says Kurt Edwards, director general, IBAC. “Having IS-BAO displayed in Avinode’s Marketplace recognizes both the global value of IS-BAO and the clear commitment to safety of IS-BAO-registered charter operators.”
