Avinode encourages new charter customers to bizav with listing of Etihad’s The Residence

18 Dec 2015

Avinode, the world’s leading online tool for buying and selling air charter, is welcoming its first private aviation space on a commercial airline, Etihad Airways’ The Residence, to the Avinode Marketplace.

Etihad Airways’ The Residence, available on the airline’s A380 fleet, will be sold through global aircraft charter specialist Chapman Freeborn with a listing on the Avinode Marketplace for an initial six-month period. Avinode will list each scheduled flight, where The Residence is available, as a potential empty leg and match these to relevant flight searches.

Oliver King, managing director, Avinode, says: “One of business aviation’s biggest challenges is to pull new customers into the industry, to experience the product. When Chapman Freeborn approached Avinode with the idea to list Etihad’s The Residence, we were excited to explore whether our members could leverage that business, and hopefully reap the benefits at either end of the customer’s experience. By bringing new customers to the industry, we hope that brokers and operators will be able to target these additional opportunities.”

Alex Berry, group sales and marketing director at Chapman Freeborn adds: “We are always looking for ways to innovate in our industry, and this unique move will see Etihad’s superb premium products presented in a whole new format to a new audience.”

Chapman Freeborn unveiled its new relationship with Etihad Airways earlier this year, with Chapman Freeborn complementing Etihad’s sales by promoting and marketing the carrier’s range of top-end living spaces to its own clients. Etihad Airways’ A380s currently operate three daily services from Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow, daily from Abu Dhabi to New York JFK and one of its two daily services between Abu Dhabi and Sydney.
